I mean - can calling up programs alter your fate and result in an interview ?

Sometimes it does some times it doesn't, what do you have to loose, the worse that can happen is they say that everything is done via ERAS.
All I know is that if I had waited around for an interview through ERAS I would still be waiting.
Because I got proactive ands started calling and visiting people and programs now I have a signed contract, so make your own conclusions.
