if it is your connecting flight as part of your entry to USA from out side country, you are allowed luggage of the same limit granted to you while boarding international flight.

Its for local flights between 2 states in US.I will try to checkout the airline websites.Another thing I wanted to know was whether I can take the interview suits on hangers as cabin luggage?

ya you can... you are allowed to carry one handbag in addition to your suit hanger..
