Is ECFMG certification required for a FMG to do an Externship/Observership in a hospital?

no its not required, but it sure does help, seek a subinternship vs externship.

I guess according to what you guys wrote, ECFMG certification helps but If I can make some contacts tthen I can get an externship without certification. It is not an absolute necessity. Thank you and good luck

Ask for a "SUBINTERNSHIP" that's what the domestics call it, you'll notice the diffference.
