child is brought to the EMD.

Physician can administer SABA via MDI

His 02 sat = 92 % . What is the rationale in choosing o2 over SABA in this scenario ?

Three issues which defer from the explanation above

1 ) Goal in an acute asthma exacerbation is to maintain sao2 ----------- 92 % ( not 95 %)

2 ) Pt unable to complete sentences = severe acute exacerbation ( not moderate )

3) Child below 4 yrs------------- not to use MDI may not be a correct statement. In a child who has come with acute sever exacerbation SABA are administered either by MDI or by Nebuliser. MDI are even used in infants.
