Antibiotics for abscesses - hopetomatchsoon

According to MTB, antibiotics are given to prevent the spread of infection. However, it doesn't specify exactly which antibiotics. Does anybody know?

thats case specific .. usually a blood culture or urine culture will tell you whats growing / cause .. based off that you should know the coverage

abscesses are causes most commently by staph aureus, I believe....so anti-staph ATB (oxa, diclox, nafcilin for non MRSA, vanco for MRSA, linezolid or streptogramins for VRSA

any thoughts from others?
