A 25 y/o F with a history of drug abuse asymptomatic for routine checkup. Blood tests indicate that pat is HIV POS. She has no planned itinerary & med has not started yet. Pat will be traveling in south America soon. Pat has had routine childhood immunz. Pat has allergy to egg and has not previously traveled overseas. Which of the following vaccine should this pat receive before departure?

Yellow fever is live vac the risk of use of vac in HIV pat hv not been establish. However if you pay attn. stem mention pat allergic and the egg proteins contraindicated in our pat. Both ORAL polio & typhoid are live and is no, no in pat.

@captan if I would said; pat traveling to Saudi Arabia during the Hajj u would be rt not here in South America.

Measles also live 1 exception on the stem our pat “ASYMPTOMATIC” CD4 less than 200/ not severely immunocompromised & “IF” immune for measles born after 1956 & before 1980.. http://www.who.int/ith/vaccines/measles/en/
