does anyone hv any idea abt primary care internal medicine residency.
is it worth giving a shot........wht r the future prospects n wht fellowships one can opt after it....
really need some good guidance........plz

Primary care tract means you have little to no chance at fellowship afterwards. You basically being trained to be a PCP. That does not mean that you absolutely cannot get a very less competitive fellowship in future like ID.
If doing fellowship is what you really want then look for categorical positions in very good programs

having fellowship is not as important as it seems.
Right now, my graduating class is getting PCP/ hospitalsit job offers 250K plus RVU and sign on bonus. 7on7off.
What you do the other 7 days is more income. if you work 2 days in a outpatient clinic making 6K to 8K more.

where the fellowship in the end would make the same way. you work at least 50 hours working as a cardio or GI specialist. in the end is the same way. If you are considering J-1 waiver go to PCP track.
