Hi every one

FA (page 314) mentions that Mild decreases in serum stimulate PTH secretion but Severe decreases in serum inhibit PTH secretion. Can someone please help me understand the mechanism?

In severe/chronic hypOMg -> like dry land/ intercellular Mg ran out supply -> interfere w secretion PTH & peripheral respond to PTH. ( Mech not very clear just take my story as is, but if u really bug u only can say adenylate cyclase that use Mg as cofactor probably paralyzed that all I know). Mg on PTH secretion not that important but bz Ca defect dominate.
