Blunt abd trauma - medlife2014
#1
So if a pt blunt abd trauma and Fast is postive we do Lap
If pt is unstable and fast is negative we DPL
If pt is stable and fast is negative we do ct

Now if Fast is positive and its a injury to the spleen we do CT is this just the only exception for blunt abd trauma with a positive FAST that we dont do lap????

what I understand is that the patient is STABLE and its highly suspicious
for splenic injury (suggested by FAST) you do the CT to confirm and grade the injury,
cause splenic laceration in a STABLE patient can have a nonoperative management first (stabilize and repair the spleen later, but NON emergent)

but if patient is UNSTABLE + positive fast = emergency laparotomy.

correct me If Im wrong please. hope to clear those doubts.
