Don't waste money on this, as long as it is a clear photo dressed the same way you would for an interview it should be OK.

A proper photo taken with smartphone will suffice. Do not take a selfie, get a friend to take it for you. There are many apps that help you do the job.

The program will take your picture when the requirement comes up. The ERAS photo requirement is for candidate identification purposes. my 2c

AMGs in my program had pics taken outside and in plainclothes.
IMGs were super formal, looking serious and sad, or super fake. In the end it did not make a difference. They need this to identify you when you apply and when you interview. A photo does not (and should not) change in any way the opinion that someone in a program has of you. That is called discrimination. Decent pic, clear, normal looking, tie and jacket for a guy, nice blouse for a girl should be OK. A normal picture, even with your phone is adequate as long as you are not wearing your "I'm with stupid" T-shirt. |
