URGENT ADVICE NEEDED!!

Got an opportunity to serve as a volunteer in Dept of Urology, but i would be applying for IM residency and not surgical field,,,, do you think I will help/ hurt my application?

considering the fact that research is very hard to get....should I wait for getting research in medicine or just grab whatever I get/?

research opportunity is at a University hopsital.

Grab what you can get..hopefully you publish something and make a strong case for it at your interviews!

You can use the opportunity in your CV to make it better, but it will not be having the same value as rotations or any other experience in IM specialty.

Try to get experience in IM specialty they will be having more value, other specialty experience will not add much for the application.
