Hello everyone. I’m currently in my third year of med school and I will graduate in 2024. My university will probably lose its accreditation after 2024. Will I still be able to able to apply for residency in US? Please give me overall information about ecfmg certification, usmle exams and everything else I should know. Should I just give up studying for step 1 before I even started? Thanks

Hello, I wouldn’t risk it without knowing for sure where your university is heading with accreditation. Usually you get the ECFMG certificate only after you graduate and this requires your graduating medical school to be recognized by the commission.
