Understanding the PD's mind - FILTERS - par469
#1
Hi All
I have Submitted my applications but I am surprised that the ERAS is letting me add/change the Personal Statement that I have assigned to my programs that is already made available to the programs (@ 9 am EST, Oct 21st, today).
- So, I am guessing that the "Application/CV" is most important, based on which the Programs/PDs decide on our application, i.e. FIRST-FILTER
- Therefore, we should NOT have any RED Flags in the Application/CV

I am NOT able to change the assigned LoRs
- Which means, LoRs are the 2nd (if not the first) determinant/FILTER

I thought our Personal Statements are more important but, it is probably the THIRD FILTER.

Am I right?

@par469
what do you mean by RED flags in CV?

Hey @maanas RED flags can be:
1) Failures in USMLE, Low scores, Failures in our medical school or extensions
2) Long gaps between medical school and our application, long duration of non-clinical practice,
3) Previous loss/termination from residency (common in this country) for various reasons
etc.

Anybody want to add any other "red-flags" in our CV?

Maanas
Programs get detailed USMLE performance report with scores of all attempts the applicant had "in case if there are failures".
