Hello fellas
I don't have my documents ready e.g I am waiting for my CK score and I don't have my LOR and personal statement ready. I am wondering if someone can tell me if I can still register with NRMP and apply to one program at least in order to be eligible for scramble. i am totally new to this game and need info. I am expecting my CK score on 23rd but I have already cleared Step 1 and CS. All the best to everyone applying for 2011.
WOw...very informative, thanks.

@hands-on

I am sorry, to be honest, you are late to apply for scramble this year.

NRMP dead line was over that was on Fab 23rd.
You should prepare all needful for next year 2012, make sure to be ready before Auguest, including USCE.
Start apply first Sept.
Don't feel bad as if you are late for scramble because scramble is very little hope with tons of applicants.

Be prepare for 2012.
I agree with forever07,

unfortunately the registration for NRMP is over. If you ahve registered to NRMP and applied to at least one program with ERAS you can apply to scramble.

also if you are just getting your any exam results now (CK,CS) you can still apply to scramble providing that you have already registered with ERAS, and NRMP by Feb.23rd.

if you are registered with ERAS/NRMP already if you are gonnna get your any test results (CK,CS) after the scramble day, you can still apply to scramble but chances are nobody will look at your application sinc there will be thousands of applicants with full applications...

yes forever07 you are right on not feeling bad about scramble if you can not participate this year because, it is a hectic day with minimum opportunities...you are not loosing hell alot.

good luck to all.
pathology11 r u sure u can participate in match/postmatch without ecfmg certificate as an IMG? My understanding was u can apply , register with nrmp but if u haven't passed both 1 and 2 and cs (with result), by match/scramble day then nrmp withdraw u from match saying u have not fulfilled criteria. if u have applied before and your result comes before scramble day then yes u can participate.
for AMG whole thing is different.
only thing for those who gets result after scramble day is apply independently for offcycle positions.
Hi pahology11 and forever07,
Thanks very much for this thread, it's such informative.
How do you know a unfilled program in the previous-years result from NRMP? I mean, I don't know how to differentiate a unfilled program and a program offered prematch.
Thanks!
Thank you all for keeping the thread alive. I have 2 questions
1. do programs sponsor h1b visa for preli position? or it will be j1? if j1 then can we apply for pgy2 position for h1b visa next year? or it should be j1 again? or i need to live usa?
2. regarding calling program- do we call pc or pd directly?
thanks
Vimimg

This is the Nrmp result link to check number of scramble.

There is program code....you will know which program. Then , you subtract from Quota10 to matched number 6, so 4 programs are unfilled for...scramble.

Hope you got it.

Regarding your first Q, I have no idea about visa thing, and some one will answer you.

Second, we can call PC or PD directly in scramble and mostly PD interviewed you on line , that's I heard from some one in this thread. Can you read the first page of this thread?
Some one explained about scramble experience last year.

Good luck all. Only 7 days left!
Matched or Unmatched Information

At 12:00 noon on Monday of Match Week, applicants can learn IF they matched to a program on their rank order list by logging in to the NRMP's Registration, Ranking, and Results (R3) System using their AAMC ID and password. Applicants will be presented with one of the following messages on the Applicants Options page:

1. Congratulations, you have matched!

This message will be displayed for any applicant who is "fully" matched, including:

· Applicants who listed and matched to a categorical program

· Applicants who listed and matched to preliminary and advanced programs

Other conditions also apply. Applicants who listed only advanced programs on their certified rank order lists and did not list any preliminary positions on a supplemental rank order list will receive this message. Similarly, applicants who included only preliminary programs on their certified rank order lists will receive this statement. The matching algorithm considers an applicant "matched" if he/she lists only one program type on the certified rank order list. Applicants who receive this message will not have access to the Dynamic List of Unfilled Programs that is posted on Tuesday of Match Week.

2. Congratulations, you have matched to an advanced position but not a first-year position!

This message will be displayed for any applicant who matched to an advanced position, but did not match to a preliminary position listed on his/her supplemental rank order list. Applicants who receive this message will have access to the Dynamic List of Unfilled Programs and are eligible to participate in the post-Match Scramble for unfilled positions to obtain a preliminary position; however, applicants may not use the Scramble to obtain a categorical position or a different advanced position.

3. Congratulations, you have matched to a one year position!

This message will be displayed for any applicant who matched to a preliminary position, but did not match to an advanced position listed on his/her primary rank order list. Applicants who receive this message will have access to the Dynamic List of Unfilled Programs and are eligible to participate in the post-match Scramble for unfilled positions to obtain an advanced position; however, applicants may not use the Scramble to obtain a categorical position or a different preliminary position.

4. We are sorry, you did not match to any position!

This message will be displayed for any applicant who did not match to a program listed on either his/her primary or supplemental rank order list. For applicants participating as a partner of a couple, this statement also may be displayed if the applicant listed the 999999999 program code on the primary rank order list to indicate '"No Match". Applicants who receive this message will have access to the Dynamic List of Unfilled Programs and are eligible to participate in the post-Match Scramble for any category of unfilled positions.

5. You are not matched because you did not submit a certified rank order list!

This message will be displayed for any applicant who registered to participate in the Match but did not certify a rank order list prior to the rank order list certification deadline. Applicants who receive this message will have access to the Dynamic List of Unfilled Programs and are eligible to participate in the post-Match Scramble for any category of unfilled positions.

6. You are NOT matched because you are withdrawn!

This message will be displayed for any applicant who registered to participate in the Match but was withdrawn either by his/her medical school or by the NRMP. Applicants who were withdrawn by the NRMP because they obtained positions through another matching service will not have access to the Dynamic List of Unfilled Programs.

Hi, I have a question, where can i get the recent updated contact information of the program?

Any one knows?
