Yep i understand the process. meaning you need to know the dna sequence surrounding the dna sequence of interest. the sequence for the dna of interest does not need to be known. using a heat stable polymerase and etc. i understand in the question provided, that the strand is running from 5' to 3'. so the answer also runs in the 5' to 3' direction. since the question doesn't mention what type of strand is given, it ssafe to assume that it is the coding stranding..and so the replicated strand should be the same no?
