sir you seem to be overqualified rather than underqualified in any way. you can find position in FM at a good university hospital. trust me.

I think you are in good shape. Take all the remaining steps to get your ecfmg certificate.
Your personal statement should be the medium to tie everything together. You must emphasize the experiences you have built up over the years.

You have done a lot and if you can get a lor from any of the consultants/attendings you have worked with in the past, coupled to others from US attendings that should be to your advantage.

Get in touch with people you know in programs and have them introduce you to their coordinators and PDs, so that you can bypass any filters they have... such as cutoff based on year of graduation from Med school.

Don't relent, do your best to make contact and get interviews. Also keep an eye on plan b too, it takes a year for the application cycle to come around and each year it starts getting more difficult.
