@ckinjan - thanks for the advice, i registered for the exam yesterday, but haven't think about the time yet, i have to finish uw ,, then will give an nbme. then may be i'll able to think of the exam date IA !! how about you? when is ur plan to take exam ? good to know that u have a baby girl of my son's age Smile its really hard to study with a baby.. i ususally try to study when he is sleeping,, but that time is really not enugh for study ..I started to send him to the childcare few weeks ago, then he got sick and i had to stop sending him,, but he is going from today again.

If i can finish pedi may be i'll join with ur q discussion.

@hint- did u find any website u are looking for? I searched onnce, but i didn't find any website which has murmur, ecg and derma all in one combined.
@hint,for derma, i use dermnet.com,for dermatology images.But i dont know if thats what you need.
@ everyone,is colchicine for acute or chronic gout??MTB says its for chronic while kaplan says its for acute..
@ckinjan and sal10, wow, you have kids! I can only imagine how hard it can be to study with them! About pediatrics I just finished revising it from mtb2 and found that it was waste of time. Mtb2 neither clears the concept about answering the question like for medicine nor it covers all the topics (knowledge wise). I would say mtb3 is far better. I found kaolan notes very lengthy... So I read only once. But my nbme shows poor performance in pediatrics Sad .

@sal10: I did not want all of them in one side ..but at least one site for each.. One good soul suggested me something (see my other post) but yet to explore it. I am getting little desperate for EKG (sometimes I can identify them sometimes I cannot)

@viv26: firstly thanks ..secondly colchicine is for acute goud it prevents neutrophils and thus treats acute inflammation in gout. But rarely used these days as NSAIDs work in similar manner and are with less side effects. For chonic gout you have to treat the cause like overproduction or undersecretion of uric acid.

Some doubts from my side
#clavicle in neonate: do we treat it? Uw says not treated, it will heal on it's own it is a greenstick fracture. But mtb says treat with splint. What will you choose?

Treatment of paroxysms of pertussis: uw says antibiocs shortens the illness so treat it. Mtb says antibiocs are not of help in paroxysms.. What will you do?
@hint..woow..i hate controversies.i just tried searching in kapln surgery but couldnt find the answer.I'll browse it up later and see.
@sal10 and ckinjan,i really know what you're going through cos i have a 6 month old daughter too.I was taking her to nursey and going to library,but fortunately my mum visited,and that is why i have to make use of this short time and take the exam this period.
@hint,i'll look further into those topics and see what i can find.
@hint- i just started to read pedi from mtb3, after i finish may be i'll try to answer ur question
@hint..did u get the email reply??
@viv26: I did.. I just checked. Thanks a lot.
@viv26: the Dermatology site is good thanks.. How is the prep coming along?

@sal10: I was reading cardiology from MTB2. Actually I liked that there. I wish I had read that earlier .. well it is never too late...

@ckinjan: in top gear?

I really appreciate you all, that you are studying with small babies around! Hang in there ... We all are very close.. Lets finish this soon and be free. Smile Happy studying
