No probably they will update the list at 12 PM EDT

The round goes on throughout the day. My friend was offered a position 3 hours into the round yesterday.

i called NRMP , list will be updated at 11 EST

I read that post too and i was deeply hurt, never did i think that they had so much contempt for us...
their arguements may not be overcome but some of them said "this is how the US system works like it or leave it" gosh!!! i have nothing against AMG's in particular, infact they work really hard, student loans, completing a degree before entering medical schoool etc etc... but i dont think they have any right to ask us to leave the country... if all these AMG's, ECFMG, FSMB, NBME, ACGME are all so bothered to increase AMG's in residency positions and to prefer AMG's over IMG's then they should have hung a board at the arrival gate of all US airports saying "We have enough doctors, if you are doctor who wishes to practice here then please forget about it and go back to where you came from" i would have done that gladly... Everything here is in favor of AMG's, and i dont find anything wrong with that, after all this is their country... But what i see as an issue is no single agency admits that they are in favor of AMG's... its like a psycopath saying "hey buddy we will take your money, but you will be safe" really!!!??? if you want to prefer AMG's over us we dont mind... Just fking admit it!!!

IF YOU WANT TO PREFER AMG'S OVER US WE DONT MIND!!!... JUST FKING ADMIT IT!!! so we can stop wasting money and time over here...

In all fairness i thought America would be a place where talent and hardwork would be appreciated, but on the contrary its changing... That was one of my reasons for choosing to come here in the first place...

and by the way all these organisations say that the increase in AMG's is to cover all residency spots which are being less preferred by them and they think that would help in the scarcity of doctors.... thats the worst arguement i have heard, If you want to reduce scarcity of doctors then increase the number of residencies, increase medical school positions alone wont actually serve your needs... increase them both if you want... increase them both and completely exclude IMG's from applying to the increased positions, no one cares... just dont argue or say that increase in medical school positions alone will solve your problems...

Yesterday I made a list of programs to apply to in the ERAS. Over the night 5 programs lost a box that allow to apply, probably they filled positions to these programs. These programs are still in NRMP list of unfilled positions.

Time for plan B...

This system is corrupt. Its either match the first time around or forget it. I interviewed for a program that still has it's one spot open. I suspect the reason they didn't rank me is because they took all the foreign grads during the prematch and were holding out for an american grad during the match. Even though they are participating in the SOAP, they are still not filling their position during any of the rounds. I'm sure they are not the only program that is doing this. I'm a US citizen too. It's corrupt.

@mdcarlos1982 Pursue my other interests and experiences. Enhance my CV for other potential jobs. I'm a pretty good candidate. Most people on this forum are too. There's no need why we should be scrounging for leftovers and withering away while everyone else is getting spots. Like I said, there's a whole big wide world out there.

@ chipliza : thanks for listening... Im glad to see someone else felt the same way I did.it takes a lot of courage to come to a foreign country and suffer what we have to suffer.. one of my colleagues ( an american born n raised here) said to me , you are extremely brave, I would nt even think of going outside my comfort zone/ even to a different part of my own country and look for work.,, i cant even imagine what you guys go through leaving your family back home and adjusting to such a 'hostile' environment.

Let me be honest with you all, if u r an IMG and need a visa and have a failing grade on ur transcript, u might as well forget about residency in USA...
There are now more applicants than US residency spots, making it hard on AMG and US citizen who are IMG to secure spots. Those guys have preferences over FMG. With all the changes they are doing now, they r trying to stop all prematch or offer outside of the match and all those other nonsense is b/c they have realize this problem.
ERAS is making millions every year during this time period, selling people false hopes....
I have friends who are US citizens but IMG they are having a hard time securing positions with all the student loans they have, they realized that there is a problem. And a lot of them are now voicing their discontent about the whole match system. No wonder they are trying to make the exam harder and harder every year and passing all of these new laws...

It won't get any better, expect it to get worse.
