thanks docsammd...if PDs dont care about the step 3...that even make me more sad for the match...I really dont know wt I can do more on my cv for next match,..sigh...

Thats not true ,PDs do care about step 3 especially if you have low step 1 and 2 scores..but score good in step 3

How can we get the non-NRMP programs list?

sut29, on personal note step3 is least concern compared to contacts which can be gained from usce. i have 84,85,86 all first attempt no iv---nil.

I'm a US citizen FMG. I have completed my step 3. Step 3 helps in getting interviews I think. Just don't get a lower score than you did in step 1 or 2 because it will work against you. Basically, I was told by many attendings that I've asked for help that programs want American grads straight up. They don't want US FMGs or IMGs. They want Americans who are US grads. Some of them are even bias towards which American medical school they take from!

In my opinion, it's an unnecessary bias as many of the great minds who wrote textbooks in medicine were foreign grads! Think about it...

ACGME is trying to phase out foreign docs and bring more Americans into primary care. Unfortunately for US FMGs, we get the short end of the stick. The only thing to do is to keep trying, keep trying. Keep improving your CV and keep getting closer to these people. Show them that you're an asset to their program.

If you are a foreign grad your best bet is the Match, not the SOAP or scramble. I've met some people who have had kids, started a family, and waited years before they got a residency position at about 35 or 40 years old. It's not fair at all, but it's the way of things right now.

no personal experience, but this process makes me feel bloated and ready to burst like a torpedo.

obviously we can sit here and scratch our asses time to time but still should we let all these robotic mechanical systems abuse our minds every second?, even when i have to piss? sometimes i feel like ;i will pass a stone after this process, its better if i pass a gold or diamond stone, i need a big check so i can buy me some sushi. now if this doesnt happen then i can go strip in front of ecfmg and eras and nrmp and fsmb and whoever else what to join in the money pie and say look at what you guys made me into a crazy manic hahahahahahah at least they will throw me a dollar bc i have a tatoo of there company name on my body ECMG ERAS FSMB property

Of course its better if you take and pass it

People are so full of it trying to know it all

Bump and step 3 is really not that special

Lets say its special if the score is high, I am not sure is it worth the effort. May make a difference with others having similar step1 and 2 scores.
